Collaboration Over Competition: Kith + Kimono

I'm a firm believer in collaboration over competition and feel so lucky to be able to partner up with brands that are making a difference. I first met Estella, the designer of Kith + Kimono, through an online sustainable fashion accelerator program called Factory45. We were both located in San Diego, so we decided to meet up and we immediately started bouncing ideas around! We knew that once our collections were complete, we definitely wanted to collaborate together - after all, voices are always stronger when spoken together! Last month we coordinated a joint photoshoot featuring our collections and were thrilled with how well they complimented each other.

Kith + Kimono uses deadstock fabrics that are discarded and unused by other manufacturers to create one-of-a-kind kimonos in limited runs. Their manufacturing is all done in Los Angeles, CA and they stress the importance of sustainable materials from design to packaging. Instead of taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Estella created a size run from extra small to extra large to help shoppers find the perfect fit! These versatile kimonos are perfect for every outfit ranging from casual to night out to festival chic.

Last week we had the opportunity to join forces with Kith + Kimono to have a pop-up at BLVD Court's First Fridays! This event is new to the scene but brings together amazing local vendors, DJ's, artists and food trucks for a great night out. We loved being able to style our space using both of the collections that we worked so hard to bring to life. Shoppers were excited to listen to our stories and see two local brands come together to advocate for sustainable fashion.

We're looking forward to collaborating again in the near future and bringing even more conscious brands into our circle. Follow Kith + Kimono on Instagram @kithandkimono & shop online: www.kithandkimono.com
